The International Seminar on Surveying and Mapping for Disaster Risk Reduction Held at Hi-Target Headquarter

On 17 April 2019, the International Seminar on Surveying and Mapping for Disaster Risk Reduction hosted by Guangdong Industrial Technology Innovation Union of Satellite Navigation and Location Based Services and attended by experts from the ASEAN FEDERATION OF LAND SURVEYING AND GEOMATICS (FLAG), China’s famous universities and surveying institutes was held in Guangzhou.
 
The theme of the seminar was Technology Ensures Safety. It aimed to enhance communication and mutual learning in surveying and mapping technology between China and ASEAN countries and improve the emergency response capacities in natural disasters. The attendees from across the globe conducted the technical session and shared their experiences on Surveying and Mapping for Disaster Risk Reduction. 
At the opening ceremony, J.W Chen, CEO of Hi-Target International, delivered a speech in which he welcomed and thanked the attendees from ASEAN FLAG, China’s universities and surveying institutes. Randolf S. Vicente, President of ASEAN AFLAG, stressed the importance of Disaster Risk Reduction in his speech.

During the technical session, Mr. Gerry Ong from Singapore Institute of Surveyors, Dr. Wicha Jiwalai from Surveying & Mapping Society of Thailand, Mr. Liu Wenjian and Mr. Wang Teng from Guangdong Society of Surveying and Mapping, professors Xiao Zhifeng and Chen Ting from Wuhan University, professors Masato Takiura and many other experts, gave keynote speeches. Their speeches covered topics such as emergency surveying and mapping mechanism, remote sensing, UAV Lidar and so on. The speeches reflected a common understanding of the challenges and achievements in ASEAN countries and China.
 
 
Mr. Lan Qiping from China Railway Bridge Bureau shared Construction Survey Technology of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. His presentation arouses all the attendees’ interest and they also had a further discussion on the surveying technology using in the project.
 
At the closing ceremony of the seminar, Jiang Junyi, General Secretary of Guangdong Industrial Technology Innovation Union of Satellite Navigation and Location Based Services and Randolf S. Vicente, President of ASEAN AFLAG handed out the certificates to the presenters.
 
Hi-Target is glad to be the organizer of the Seminar and have the chance to communicate with the experts in Geospatial and surveying fields on Surveying and Mapping for Disaster Risk Reduction. Disaster Risk Reduction now is an urgent task for all mankind and Hi-Target hope to help to reduce the damage caused by natural hazards with the cutting-edge surveying technology.
